What’s New With INSPIRE 2 3D Scanner!

What’s New With INSPIRE 2 3D Scanner!

Revopoint has just launched the INSPIRE 2 3D Scanner, the next evolution of their popular entry-level 3D scanner. Let’s take a look at what’s new and improved in this powerful upgrade.

The Upgrades

Accuracy

Right out the door, INSPIRE 2 (0.05 mm) is 75% more accurate than INSPIRE (0.2 mm), along with a much higher fused point distance (0.05 mm vs. 0.1 mm) for even more detailed and accurate 3D models.

Dual Scanning Modes

With the introduction of infrared laser scanning, INSPIRE 2’s versatility gets a serious upgrade from its predecessor.

Infrared Laser Scans

Packing 11 parallel infrared lines, INSPIRE 2’s laser capabilities enable it to capture fine details, shiny, and dark surfaces at up to 30 fps without the need to first apply scanning spray.

Structured Light

INSPIRE 2’s structured light mode has been upgraded and can now capture 30% more point cloud data for higher resolution models, and features a 30% larger capture area, improving its tracking and capture speed.

Optical Zoom

Capturing complex, mixed geometry surfaces is no longer a challenge with INSPIRE 2’s advanced optical zoom. Featuring both 1.5x and 2x zoom levels, the projector’s adjustable optics concentrate structured light precisely where it’s needed, making it easier to scan intricate details on multi-surfaced objects. Whether you’re working with sharp edges, recessed features, or varying textures, INSPIRE 2 ensures every detail is captured clearly.

Outdoor Scanning

Wherever you need to scan, INSPIRE 2 is ready to go. With the ability to handle environments with up to 20,000 lux of daylight, it captures clean, detailed scans without losing depth or clarity. Whether you’re scanning in a workshop, by a window, or even outdoors, INSPIRE 2 makes it easy to get great results in challenging lightning conditions.

New Calibration Board

It’s now easier than ever to maintain your INSPIRE 2’s accuracy and reliability with the new calibration board. It’s made using an advanced photolithographic technique that ensures the accuracy of its coded areas, which in turn ensures the accuracy of calibrations.

Fresh Redesign

The INSPIRE 2 can easily fit into your pocket and comes with a new aerospace-grade aluminium alloy front that keeps it lightweight (190 g) but adds impact resistance for a stronger overall device.

Best of the Rest

While these features aren’t new, they’re all part of creating a complete scanning package, and the INSPIRE 2 excels at them.

Color Scans

INSPIRE 2 delivers vibrant, true-to-life color scans that make your digital models feel real. Whether you’re capturing artwork or everyday objects, its advanced RGB camera accurately reproduces surface colors and textures with impressive clarity. Making it an excellent choice for projects where color details matter, like art digitization, cultural preservation, product design, marketing visuals, face and body scanning, and costume making.

Mobile Scans

INSPIRE 2 makes mobile 3D scanning easy and flexible, with no expensive $300+ adpaters needed. You connect the scanner directly to your smartphone using Wi-Fi (iOS and Android) or USB-C (Android), making it simple to scan on the go.

For those seeking even greater performance, you can connect the scanner to a PC and stream the scan to your mobile phone via Revo Mirror, enabling infrared laser scanning while maintaining freedom of movement. It’s a seamless way to achieve desktop-level quality with mobile freedom.

Tracking Modes

INSPIRE 2 comes with three tracking modes to handle a variety of small to medium-sized objects. Feature modes work well for scanning detailed objects, faces, or anything with distinct surface features, without the need for markers. For smooth or symmetrical items like boxes or balls, Marker mode provides accurate tracking using placed markers. Global Marker mode offers improved tracking and accuracy when performing marker scans of larger objects, making INSPIRE 2 flexible for many different scanning situations.

Revo Metro - Software

Of course, no matter how good a scanner’s hardware is, it isn’t worth much without powerful software to support it. That’s why INSPIRE 2 comes with Revo Metro for free. It has everything you need for scanning, from granular scan settings to ensure you can capture your object perfectly to a full suite of editing tools for processing, cleaning up, and merging scan data before exporting it to the next step in your workflow.
